Going Shopping…In My Closet

I’ve was rifling around in my closet the other day, and I came across some really fun stuff that I had completely forgotten about. I was so excited that I went a little nuts trying to find more buried treasures in the forgotten corners of my wardrobe. By the time I was done I had uncovered among many things, my flowered doc martens that I got for my 15th birthday, a very happy vintage hat that accompanied me on a road trip in 2001, a coral trench coat that I bought for $6 on the “crap nobody wants” rack at Old Navy, and my favorite makeup Brush that had been stuffed in an old purse for about a month. I have always been really good about purging my closet on a rather regular basis, but there are some things that I have never had the heart to get rid of. Thank God I have ridiculous attachments to inanimate objects because Urban Outfitters is now selling the same Doc Martens for $150! I had a blast spending 2 mildly manic hours rediscovering the fashions of my youth, and assembled several really fun outfits with all my reclaimed loot. My advice today is to go treasure hunting, and remember that some of the greatest finds have already been found!
